چکیده

Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence Technique was used to study the chemical compositions of rice husk in four selected Local Governments, namely-Wudil, Tofa, Kura and Rano Kano State, Nigeria. Rice is edible part paddy one major agricultural wastes that has potential produce composition which can be useful manufacturing industries. The samples were obtained during dry season grounded into powdered form irradiated with X-rays, X-rays interact individual atoms samples, these respond by producing their own whose energy levels abundance are different for each element. Fourteen compounds revealed all are; SO3, P2O3, SrO,BrO, ZnO, CuO, NiO, Fe2O3, MnO, CaO, K2O, Rb2O, Cl, SiO2. Herein, fourteen elements below detection limit (BDL) rest Wudil, Kura, Tofa have ten detected. concentration SiO2, CaO (in %), ranged from (82.12to 78.84), (12.964 7.0227), (6.0753 4.518) (2.3725 1.50716) respectively. Likewise, following %) constitutes minor elements; SrO CuO within range (0.705 05122), (0.2103 0.0147), (0.1838 0.01547), (0.73 0.023), (0.04586 0.017608) (0.04034 0.008503) In % P2O3(27.038), Cl(0.4766), SO3(3.79704) BrO (1.3992) new discovered sample not common other findings very as raw material production

Assessment of Patients’ Entrance Skin Dose from Diagnostic X-ray Examinations at Public Hospitals of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria

Introduction High doses of ionizing radiation can lead to adverse health outcomes such as cancer induction in humans. Although the consequences are less evident at very low radiation doses, the associated risks are of societal importance. This study aimed at assessing entrance skin doses (ESDs) in patients undergoing selected diagnostic X-ray examinations at public hospitals of Akwa Ibom State,...

assessment of the efficiency of s.p.g.c refineries using network dea

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...

Assessment of geogenic natural radionuclide contents of soil samples collected from Ogun State, South western, Nigeria

Background: Natural radionuclides are always present in the environment. Human exposure to the background radiation is inevitable. It is therefore important to assess health risk associated with these radionuclides. Materials and Methods: The distribution of natural radionuclides 238U, 232Th and 40K in soil samples collected from all the twenty (20) local Governments headquarter areas in Ogun s...

Determination of multi-element profiles of street dust using energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF).

Street dust samples have been collected in different areas in Hong Kong associated with various levels of traffic and pedestrian flow, and the concentrations of 23 chemical elements have been determined using energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF). The 23 studied elements were Na, Al, Si, Cl, Ti, Ba, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, K, Ca, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Pb, Rb, Sr, Y, Zr and Sn. A profile for average...
